It's very exciting to work with actors who are eager to learn the craft of acting. The results have been marvelous. I would like you to see their achievements in THREE ORIGINAL PLAYS on March 22, 23, 29, 30 and April 5, 6.
The first play is BLIND QUINCEAÑERA. Elena has been taking acting classes with us for about a year. She is thirteen years old and dreams of becoming an actress. The second actress in the show, Sofia, also thirteen, just joined us. Her mother encouraged her to try new things, and when she walked through our doors, we could see she had potential. We auditioned her for a part, and she showed great charisma! We invited her to be in the show, and she gladly accepted. She is doing wonderfully well, and we can't wait for opening night. Working with these girls on an original play written for HMTC participants has been a joy.
The second play is CLEAN, written by Emmett Spaw, a college student from Kansas with a talent for playwriting. We are enjoying his piece, and our two actors, Jason and Nestor, are bringing it to life. They are both newcomers who have taken acting classes with us for about a year, and it's exciting to see how much they have grown.
The third play, BIG BREASTS, features new actresses as well. The roles call for two sisters, and Mari and Safiya fit the bill perfectly! It’s fantastic that they accepted roles that not only provide social commentary but also address the obsession with plastic surgery.
We would appreciate your support in attending these three short plays. Student, senior, and military tickets are discounted. Please visit our website, then go to the Events section, and click there for tickets.
