Story Slam and FREE Acting Classes

“Tell me a story.” This is a phrase you might remember from your childhood, or perhaps you’ve heard it from your own kids or grandkids. When you’re searching for a show to watch, you’re really asking someone to weave a tale for you.

Stories are wonderful because they spark our imagination and stir our emotions. Authors truly get this captivating nature of storytelling.

When a story is based on real events, the joy it brings our minds is even more intense. For the scientifically-minded, it’s all about the delightful burst of feel-good chemicals like oxytocin and dopamine lighting up our brains.

Join us at our theater on Saturday, May 3rd at 7:30pm for an open mic night that we are calling a Story Slam, where everyone is invited to share their stories!

We’d love for you to participate, keeping in mind these two simple rules: (1) it must be a true story, and (2) it should be five minutes or less. We have a small charge for this event as a little fundraiser for our theater, and we truly appreciate your support!

As well, FREE acting classes will begin again on May 7th until the end of June. We are excited that the California Arts Council gave us funding for acting and improv classes until the end of the year..

Visit our website at www.HanfordMTC.com to register and select the STORY SLAM event to participate in that fun event. Also, check the application and info for free acting classes for two months starting May 7. Acting classes will continue every Wednesday through the end of June.
