Two Documentary Films for Hanford

After premiering at Fresno’s historic Tower Theatre last November and airing on Valley PBS in December, the documentary film Retired and Inspired by Silvia Gonzalez S. returns in its complete form for a special screening at the Lil’ Brick Theater in Old Downtown Hanford on Saturday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m.

Audiences at both the Tower Theatre and Valley PBS saw only an abbreviated eight-minute version. This screening marks the first opportunity to view the full documentary, which offers an intimate look at the people who make Kings County a vibrant and inspiring place to live.

Through a microscope-like lens focused on everyday lives, Retired and Inspired celebrates local residents as stars in their own right. The film shines a spotlight on seniors who teach art, create art, explore new artistic passions, and embrace life with enthusiasm, creativity, and purpose.

See it along with Hanford-born and raised Stanley Abad Williams 'Brick by Brick' documentary of HMTC. Williams is a skilled documentarian, and the county should be proud of his other achievements in film. Brick by Brick honors the efforts of Hanford Multicultural Theater.

Tickets are available on a pay-what-you-can basis through the theater’s website or at the door. Community members are invited to attend this uplifting evening and discover the remarkable stories unfolding right here in their own backyard.
