What’s new for 2026 at Hanford Multicultural at the Lil’ Brick Theater? Well, a few things. For one, classes have been scheduled to take place in January, February, March, September, October, and November. The change is partly due to our plans to collaborate with the Santa Rosa Rancheria Education Department. We are currently working to finalize a program.
Whatever Open-Mic continues and has become very popular. We see participants coming from as far north as Sacramento and as far south as Bakersfield. This open mic started in June 2025 with Julio C. Gonzalez, Jr. and Megan M as masterminds of the event and as hosts. It is held on the first Friday of each month, and the next one is on January 2, marking the first Open-Mic of the new year. It is free to attend and participate.
We hope to bring forward our Udderly Improv group, focusing on long-form improv. This style was popularized by Del Close in Chicago and is a favorite among SNL members. We are excited to introduce it to our community. Our participants are having a lot of fun with this improv method.
Additionally, we have plans for two puppet shows and a playwright festival. More details on these events will be shared later.
Furthermore, we are proud to welcome Ted Hillman to our team. He is assisting with lights and sound. He has dedicated many days to working at the theater, infusing it with his personality. We’re pleased he’s on board, as he has many great ideas.
We have a fundraiser scheduled for January 10 called "22 COMICS IN 2 HRS AND 22 MINS." Tickets are available on our website at https://www.HanfordMTC.com.
Please come. We'd love to have your support.
