TWO SHOWS for your weekends of needed fun!

This Saturday and Sunday and the following weekend will be a rare opportunity to view a truly home-grown musical. Not only is it a musical, the characters that sing are books!

The puppet musical follows the story of a book named Bookus. Bookus sits on a shelf in the library, excited for someone else to pick him up and read his story. That excitement fades away quickly when his friend Libro runs in, with a burned corner! He warns Bookus that he is next. Bookus, Libro, World History Book, and Afro-Latinx History Book are gathered by Gargillion, a six-foot monster, to plead their case in a trial.

This is a treat for the whole family and the prices are terrific!

The Trial of Bookus will be performed on May 18, 19, 25, and 26 at 6pm. The performers of the show guarantee you will walk out of the theater singing songs from the production.

The production is at Lil’ Brick Theater at 119 ½ N. Douty Street in Old Downtown Hanford. Tickets are $1, $5, and $10. HMTC recommends getting your tickets online at www.HanfordMTC.com

On June 8 we have standup comic Nat Baimel. He is an "upbeat problem solver, awkward philosopher, and optimistic nihilist with a knack for always looking on the bright side. His smart, well-crafted material often tackles the most serious of subjects in a silly manner that will make you laugh as much as it will make you think."

You’ve likely seen one of Nat’s jokes online, as they’ve garnered tens of millions of views and been shared hundreds of thousands of times across MTV.com, BuzzFeed, the Chive, Cheezburger, College Humor, ‘Laughs’ on Fox, Rolling Stone, and the front page of Reddit dozens of times. His debut album ‘Be Nice!’ reached #1 and #5 on the Amazon and iTunes Comedy Charts respectively. Nat has also been heard on Gabriel Iglesias’ Stand-Up Revolution on XM Radio, and performed on ‘Inside Joke with Asif Ali’ on Amazon Prime. As a writer, he was a semi-finalist in the highly respected NBC Writers On The Verge as well as the Nickelodeon Writer’s Program, where he placed in the top ten out of thousands of applicants.

"Nat has performed at the prestigious Laughing Skull and Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festivals, San Francisco International Comedy Competition, and headlined internationally at the 7th annual Hong Kong Comedy Festival. He lives in Los Angeles and tours the nation constantly. Life is good. He can’t complain, but he’s Jewish, so he probably will."
