Announcing the schedule
We have been preparing the Hanford Multicultural Theater Company space for several exciting upcoming events that are open to the public.
The first event will be a discussion organized by the Fresno Arts Council with a grant from the California Arts Council. The goal is to establish a Kings County Arts Council. Kings County is one of only two counties in California without one. This discussion will take place on January 24 at 5:30 PM at our theater, Lil' Brick, located at 119 ½ N. Douty Street in Hanford’s historic downtown. Please RSVP to attend at Elisa.Flores@fresnoartscouncil.org.
On February 1, we will premiere our film Top of the Morn’n Ta Ya. The film stars Hanford resident Don Brakeman. This film was shot in locations in Hanford. It showcases members of our community in acting roles. For more information, please visit our website. Feel free to dress up for the occasion—I plan to wear sequins! The event starts at 7:30 PM.
Next, we will host three original plays: Blind Quinceañera, Clean, and Big Breasts. These plays will be performed over six nights on March 22, 23, 29, 30, and April 5, 6, all starting at 7:30 PM. Tickets are priced at $5 each, or you can purchase two shows for $10, or all three for $15.
Additionally, we will hold a Story Slam on May 3. This event is for anyone who enjoys storytelling. It’s like an open mic for stories. The idea was inspired by a similar event in Monterey, California. I am excited to bring it to Hanford!
Lastly, our classes have begun, and there are six more classes remaining for session one. We have three during the year. We welcome drop-ins, but we ask that everyone fill out a form online for insurance purposes. You can find the form at www.HanfordMTC.com called ‘application.’
We are excited by these events. We hope to see there
